Slowfeeder vullen: tips en ideeën met natuurlijke hondentoppings

Filling a slow feeder: tips and ideas with natural dog toppings

Filling a slow feeder: peace, enrichment and extra nutritional value

A slow feeder is more than just a fun way to offer food. By dividing the food into different compartments, your dog is encouraged to eat more slowly, chew better, and spend more time on their meal. This can help reduce gulping and contributes to a relaxed eating experience.

By combining a slow feeder with natural toppings, you not only add variety but also extra nutrients. Think of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and supportive ingredients for skin, coat, and joints. This way, you make every meal a moment that is not only fun but also conscious and nutritious.

In this example, we fill our slow feeder with a combination of wet food and kibble, but this can, of course, also be done with fresh meat, steamed food, or another base that your dog is used to.

Step 1
Make sure you have all the ingredients ready and grab the slow feeder. This way, you can work calmly and keep an overview.

Step 2
We start by filling the slow feeder with wet food from Ydolo | Wild Fish.
Use a teaspoon for this and spread the wet food over the compartments. Then lightly press it down with the back of the spoon.

Step 3
Time for an extra treat: Sloofie dog smoothie.
This smoothie is not only very tasty but also packed with vitamins and minerals and can contribute to overall health.

Step 4
Then we add kibble. For this, we use Ydolo Wild Fish daily kibble, but it can be any kibble your dog is used to.

Step 5
To fill empty spaces, we add some extra wet food along the outside of the slow feeder.

Step 6
Next, we also fill the outside with extra kibble.

Step 7
For extra variety, in this example, we choose Cooka’s Cookies Sunshine Salad, a mix of dried fruit.
This fruit mix is highly concentrated and therefore more nutritious than fresh fruit. You can, of course, use another topping of your choice here.

Step 8
In the areas with wet food, we add Cooka’s Cookies Purple Rain in this example. This topping, made from coconut and purple sweet potato, is a nice way to add extra nutrients. Again: varying is always allowed.

Step 9
As the next layer, we use Cooka’s Cookies Pumpkin Flakes.
These are concentrated and rich in vitamins and minerals. You can also replace this step with another topping, of course.

Step 10
One of our favorite additions is green-lipped mussel.
Green-lipped mussel is known for its versatile effects and can contribute to:

»healthy skin and coat
»an anti-inflammatory effect
»the general well-being of the dog
»joint support and mobility

Step 11
We finish the slow feeder with a sprat.
A tasty finishing touch!

Finally

This step-by-step plan is intended as inspiration. You can vary endlessly with different bases and toppings, tailored to what your dog needs and likes.

All products used in this example are available from us. Each product clearly describes its composition and function, so you can always make a conscious choice.

Thus, a slow feeder remains not a fixed recipe, but a flexible and fun part of your dog's daily diet. 🐾
